McDonalds

Wellll, first post....
Before knowing the mechanics of marketing or anything related...I watched a new stand-up performance from one of my favorite comedians, Jim Gaffigan. I enjoy comedians that can make the small things in life gut-wrenchingly funny without the use of curse words, screaming and yelling. Anyway, this segment of his performance, he talks about how there are many "McDonalds" in life that people get sucked into (ie. TV shows, other food products). Got me thinking about marketing and how people in business and entertainment are experts in the connection between producers and consumers... check out the video, its a good laugh....

Really, really funny, and a perfect way to start blogging for this class!

And did you notice how he's tweaked the distribution P? Selling his stuff online for $5, advertising at the beginning & end of the video...

That was a hilarious video. I think it is very interesting how marketers can make us want to go to McDonalds, despite what we hear about their food. Its amazing, like you said, how they bridge the gap between producer and consumer.
In response to the other comment, there is another comedian that is advertising their standup this way and selling it himself for a very low price, Louis C.K.

Comedians are experts at market analysis for sure. They have to relate material to their audience or no dice.
